PURPOSE: A break device of wheel type industrial vehicle makes a running brake and a parking brake in a single unit and compacts a brake device. CONSTITUTION: A brake device comprises a brake housing(20), a disk plate(12), a dividing plate(14), a controlling piston(30), a parking piston(40), a compression plate(50) and a compression member. The disk plate(12) is set to rotate with an axle shaft. The dividing plate is installed among the disk plates. The controlling piston(30) presses the dividing plate(14) for the disk plate(12) and the dividing plate(14) to adhere each other by moving inside the brake housing by a compressed fluid. The parking piston(40) is set inside the controlling piston(30) with moving and presses the dividing plate(14) selectively. The compression plate(50) is set at the rear of the parking piston(40) and rotates in the brake housing according to the operation of a parking lever. The compression member presses the parking piston(40) according to the rotation of the compression plate. Therefore, the brake device installs the running brake and the parking brake simultaneously without increasing the size of the brake device.
