PURPOSE: Provided is a polyester film for magnetic record, which has special projection distribution by using inert particles, therefore, which is excellent in runability and electronic property. CONSTITUTION: The polyester film for the magnetic record is produced by adding the inert particles to a polyester having ethylene naphthalate or ethylene terephthalate as a repeat unit, followed by melt-extruding and stretching. The produced polyester film has 170-200 projections being 10-60nm and less than 3 projections being more than 130nm in the area of 55,000nm¬2.
