PURPOSE: A base station for automatically supplying an area code to a mobile telephone and the base station are provided to automatically supply an area code of a corresponding area to the mobile telephone, if a mobile telephone user does not recognize the area code of the moved area. CONSTITUTION: An area code, where a base station(10) is installed, is installed in the base station(10). The base station(10) transmits the set area code to mobile telephones entering a communication range. The mobile telephones(11) receive the area code of the area from the base station(10), for storing the area code. The area code, where the base station is installed, is remotely installed in the base station(10).
