PURPOSE: A method for driving capacitive thin film transistor array is provided to improve an apparent dynamic range by giving a scanning pulse having polar turn-off shift to a thin film transistor device after a capacitor is previously charged. CONSTITUTION: A column bus is selectively connected to variable voltage power pre-charge by a switch(S1) and is selectively connected to a charge sensing amplifier. While a capacitor is previously charged, the switch(S1) is closed, a switch(S2) is opened and selected transistors are turned off at every line or are simultaneously turned on. Whole arrays are sequentially scanned during a pre-charge cycle and then the whole arrays are sequentially scanned for reading. The rows of the capacitors are previously charged and are sensed. During signal reading, the switch(S1) is closed and the switch(S2) is closed. The switch(S2) is opened or closed while respective rows are sensed at the modes of pre-charge or sensing.
