PURPOSE: A method for simply modifying the surface of a green plastic molding product is provided to prevent generation of an injurious material and powder without use of an explosive harmful solvent and very dangerous high voltage. CONSTITUTION: A method for modifying the surface of a plastic molding product is characterized in that the method comprises a process for immersing the plastic molding product in a supercritical carbon dioxide gas or a subcritical carbon dioxide gas at the glass transition temperature of the plastic and a process for evaporating and removing the carbon dioxide gas attached to the surface of the plastic molding product at the glass transition temperature of the glass. The plastic molding product may be constituted of a polar group-containing polymer. For example, a biaxially oriented polyester film, an undrawn polystyrene film, a biaxially oriented polystyrene film, a blown bottle, etc., is cited as the plastic molding product.
