PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to block diffusion of light generated by discharge in unnecessary region toward front substrate thereby improving the contrast of the screen. CONSTITUTION: The rear substrate(20) has a plurality of barrier rips which are coated with phosphor. The address electrodes are installed between the barrier rips. The front substrate(10) is sealed for the upper side of the rear substrate and has transparent electrodes for discharge and bus electrodes. The light blocking part(30) is installed on rear surface of the front substrate and blocks light generated by discharge in the barrier rip located in border of the rear substrate. The light blocking part(30) is black matrix located in the proximity of the barrier rips. |
