PORTABLE COMPUTER HAVING PLAT DISPLAY UNIT CAPABLE OF BEING SEPARATED FROM BASE UNIT

PURPOSE: A portable computer having a plat display unit capable of being separating from a base unit is provided to facilitate an exchange of a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(40) having a display is detachably combined to a base unit(20). A hinge unit is provided for making the display unit(40) be moved tiltably on the base unit(20) by a tile member(62) and a shaft(64) being inserted the base unit(20) on condition that the display unit(40) is combined to the base unit(20). A conversion/transmission unit is provided for converting an electric signal generated from the base unit(20) into an optical signal and transmitting the signal to the display unit(40) and for converting an optical signal into an electric signal and transmitting the signal to the display. A boss(90) is formed at a bottom housing(22) of the base unit(20). An opening(80) is formed at a top housing(24) of the base unit(20). A rod(68) is inserted between the boss(90) and the opening(80). A hole(92) is formed in the boss(90) on the same line as the opening(80). The size of the inside diameter of the hole(92) is formed being adapted to the rod(68).
