PURPOSE: A data output buffer is provided to achieve a low power consumption by removing the exhaust of power due to unnecessary operation though being connected to a defective partial memory, by discriminating the defective partial memory among a number of partial memories in a memory chip and then applying a discrimination signal thereof as an enable control signal of the data output buffer in each partial memory to control the activation thereof. CONSTITUTION: According to the data output buffer, a switching part(110) transfers a data signal(data) transferred from a memory cell selectively according to the state of an output start signal(dout_en). A data latch part(200) maintain the data signal transferred through the switching part constantly to an output timing. An output driving part(300) outputs data by being pull-up/pull-down driven according to the state of the data signal transferred through the data latch part. And, a defective partial memory discrimination part(400) discriminates a defective partial memory among a number of partial memories in the memory chip, and controls a switching thereof by transferring an output signal(dout_off), which is activated according to the discrimination result, to an input terminal of the switching part. The switching part applies the output signal to the third input terminal of each NAND gate(NAND1,NAND2).
