PURPOSE: A subscriber substituting authenticating method for a content provider in an advanced information communication processing system(AICPS) is provided to allow a subscriber who becomes a member to a substituting authentication system to use a paid or a membership contents provider(CP) without an authentication procedure even though he or she does not perform a PPP connection through an AICPS by registering and managing the subscriber as a free membership. CONSTITUTION: When a subscriber transmits a message requesting a connection to a specific contents provider through an AICPS, the message is transmitted to a Web server(S410). Upon receipt of the contents provider connection request message, the Web server searches a database for an ID and a password of the subscriber registered to the corresponding contents provider through a managing server(S420), and requests an authentication from the Web server of the corresponding contents provider(S430). And, the Web server redirects an authentication result to a computer system of the subscriber(S440). If the authentication is successful, the access record of the subscriber is stored(S450) and at the same time the authentication result is transmitted to the subscriber (S460). A service traffic between the subscriber and the contents provider are directly performed without passing through the Web server(S470).
