REFRACTORY BLOCK FOR SKID PIPE OF REHEATING FURNACE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A refractory block for skid pipe of a reheating furnace and a method for manufacturing the same are provided which repairs the refractory block in a limited space for a short time and prevents falling of refractories due to the structural spalling and anchor breakage generated in the refractory block, thereby reducing costs and enabling stable operation. CONSTITUTION: The refractory block comprises a plurality of refractory semicircle members (10) consisting of a heat resistant castable (30) and an insulating castable (20); a steel band (40) installed at the inner side of the insulating castable (20) contacted with a skid pipe member (110); and a hole (60) penetrating the refractory semicircle members (10), wherein the steel band (40) and the skid pipe member (110) are welded for bonding through the hole (60). The method comprises the steps of preparing a fixture (50) equipped with a plurality of steel bands (40) and a plurality of anchors (45) extended from each of the steel bands (40); forming a pair of insulating castable (20) layers having a cross-sectional structure in a semicircle shape on the fixture (50); forming refractory semicircle members (10) by forming a heat resistant castable (30) layers each of which are integrally formed on the circumferential surface of the insulating castable (20) layers; and mounting the refractory semicircle members (10) to the skid pipe member (110).
