PURPOSE: To obtain a mesh woven fabric which has high impact resistance and excellent fire resistance and is useful for reinforcing hydraulic inorganic materials, by weaving a mesh woven fabric from warps and wefts each comprising carbon fiber bundles and alkali-resistant organic fiber bundles combined in a specific ratio and then fixing the cross points of the warps with the wefts. CONSTITUTION: This mesh woven fabric for reinforcement is obtained by forming a mesh woven fabric, such as a plain weave fabric or a braided fabric, from parallel warp rows comprising carbon fiber bundles 1a and alkali-resistant organic fiber bundles 1b such as vinylon fibers in a ratio of 1:5 to 5:1 and parallel weft rows comprising carbon fiber bundles 2a and alkali-resistant organic fiber bundles 2b such as vinylon fibers in a ratio of 1:5 to 5:1, and then fusing the cross points of the warps with the wefts with hot melt fibers 2c contained in the wefts. The mesh woven fabric for reinforcement is used by coating the surface of a structure (material) with a resin, laminating the mesh woven fabric to the surface of the structure and then curing the resin, or by embedding the mesh woven fabric in a hydraulic inorganic material to reinforce the material.
