PURPOSE: A bicycle having a forward and backward driving pedal is provided to let a user travel for a long time by making a bicycle advance even if a pedal is driven backwardly and to prevent backward slip during suspension. CONSTITUTION: An upper guide sprocket(12) idly mounted on the upper part of a support member(10) lengthwise installed in the upper part of a backward driving sprocket(6) installed on a drive shaft(5) and a rear guide sprocket(16) combined to a backward rotating shaft(15) are connected via driving chains(18). A forward driving sprocket(7) is installed on the drive shaft to forwardly rotate and backwardly idle. An auxiliary guide sprocket(17) idling on the backward rotating shaft is connected via an auxiliary chain(19). A bicycle travels forwardly even when a pedal is driven backwardly. Therefore, a user rides on the bicycle for a long time by changing stance. When going up an uphill road, the user travels with slight force by backwardly stepping on the pedal.
