The frame (5) includes a channel with a connection (8). Along at least a part of this channel are openings (7), connecting the channel to a filter chamber (4). An Independent claim is included for use of the corresponding filter plate in a chamber filter press. Filter plates alternate in the press. In each filter chamber (4), to wash through the filter cakes in a diagonal direction, the U-, L- or I shapes formed by the openings (7) lie diametrally opposite each other. Preferred features: The channel extends over at least part of one-, two adjacent-, three-, four or more side(s) of the filter plate, in the frame. The channel may be annular. The cavity (2) is constructed to take a hot or cold flow, with supply and off-take lines (9, 12) provided. The channel extends away from the frame into the interior of the filter plate. There are four or more openings along the channel. They are located along it, on both sides. Opening (7) size, or their spacing along the channel, is constant or decreases. They are formed by interruptions in weld seams or by machining. The plates are spot- or seam-welded. The frame projects transversely to the planes of separation, over both of its surfaces. It is externally clad with a layer of thermal insulation (14). It is covered by a woven metallic filter cloth. This has such stability, that following the separation process, the filter cake can be subjected to greatly reduced pressure, up to vacuum.
