APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING GATED CHANNEL IN CONTROL ONLY SUBSTATE IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transmitting gated channel in a control only substate in CDMA communication system is provided to minimize interference due to transmission of reverse DPCCH channel and reverse power control bit to forward link. CONSTITUTION: A gated position selector(142) determines slot positions for the gated transmission by random pattern for executing irregular gated transmission. A channel transmitter(141) gates forward dedicated control channel signal at slot position determined by the gated position selector in a control only substate and transmits it. The gated position selector(242) determines the random gated transmission slot position by combining reverse scrambling code and CFN sequence. A mobile station has a gated transmission controller gates reverse dedicated control channel signal with unit different from the slot unit and transmits it in control only substate.
