PURPOSE: A cover glass of flat panel display element is provided, which effectively protects the display panel and stably keeps airtightness of space between the display panel and the cover glass. And a method for preparing the same is also provided. CONSTITUTION: The cover glass of flat panel display element(100) comprises: (i) a front side plate(110); and (ii) at least one spacer(120) which is formed as one body with the front plate. The method comprises steps of: (i) pre-heating a plate-shaped glass at a temperature of 300-800 deg.C for 1-5 minutes; (ii) heating the pre-heated glass of the step (i) to a temperature of 600-1,000 deg.C, at which the plastic deformation of the glass is able to occur, for 3-30 seconds; and (iii) press-molding the heated glass of the step (ii) to form a cover glass under pressure of 3-6 kilogram/square centimeter.
