PURPOSE: An incoming call processing method of an exchanger is to provide various intelligent network services interworking with an intelligent network during processing of incoming call by reporting a detection point to a service control system and performing an incoming call upon receipt of an intelligent service control. CONSTITUTION: When an SSP receives start address signal, it checks whether an incoming call connection information contained in the received start address signal is valid(S50). If the incoming call connection information is valid, the SSP starts a corresponding incoming call routine, places a detection point 1 which is able to determine whether an intelligent network service of a corresponding ISUP incoming routine exists in the call state where the incoming routine starts, and determines whether an intelligent network service is pending at the detection point 1 when the incoming call is authorized and reaches the detection point 1(S52.S54). If no intelligent network service is pending, the SSP requests a prefix translation from a prefix translation controller with the prefix contained in a start address signal, places a detection point 2 which is able to determine whether an intelligent network service exists in the call state receiving the prefix translation result, completely collects initial information, and determines whether an intelligent network service is pending at the detection point 2 when the initial information reaches the detection point 2(S58,S60). If no intelligent network is pending, the SSP translates the number with the destination number contained in the start address signal, and requests a destination subscriber occupancy from a subscriber controller(S62), and transited to a call state so as to be informed for the destination subscriber occupancy request.
