PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF PHENOL, METHYLETHYLKETONE AND ACETONE

PURPOSE: A process for the production of phenol, methyl ethyl ketone(MEK) and acetone by Hock cleavage is provided, which improves yield and converts by-products to available materials by controlling a cumene content. CONSTITUTION: A mixture containing secondary butylbenzene(I) and cumene(II) with a cumene content of 3-15 wt% is used in a process for the production of phenol, methyl ethyl ketone(MEK) and acetone by oxidation of this mixture with gas containing molecular oxygen, followed by Hock cleavage of the resulting hydroperoxides of (I) and (II).
