<p>PURPOSE: A method for driving plasma display panel is provided to increase the range of gradation to be expressed and to obtain high definition by increasing numbers of subfield divided into each frame. CONSTITUTION: The method for driving plasma display panel includes following steps. The input vertical, horizontal synchronization signal and input picture signal are stored. The modulation device modulates frequency of the input frames with 60Hz to 40Hz, so it makes the length of the unit frame longer. The one frame of the input picture signal is divided to a plurality of sub-fields. To the divided sub-fields, specific display periods are provided. The sub-fields are combined to display the multi-tones. Therefore the numbers of tone to be expressed are increased and the definition of the panel is improved.</p> |
