PURPOSE: A cellular phone is provided to reproduce a melody for reporting call incoming without damaging musical data and to make the volume of incoming tones high. CONSTITUTION: The portable telephone set is provided with a speaker(40) having prescribed output between first and second frequencies, a signal generating means for supplying an audio signal to the speaker, a storage means for storing signal data corresponding to the audio signal to be generated by the signal generating means and a control means(60) for controlling the signal generating means on the basis of the signal data, and the melody tone reproducing device is provided for storing the signal data having the frequency of the correspondent audio signal between the first and second frequencies in the storage means and supplying the audio signal of a frequency between the first and second frequencies to the speaker(40).
