PURPOSE: A paper roll printer is provided to easily and simply perform the operations without widening the opening provided for loading the paper roll. CONSTITUTION: In the roll sheet printer, a roll sheet cover, a sheet discharge table, and the cover plate part(72b) of a fixed cutter are fixed to a platen part rotating forward of a printer through a four joint parallel link mechanism. When the forward end part of the sheet discharge table is lifted, the roll sheet cover is unlocked and it can be tilted forward. When the roll sheet cover is tilted forward, the sheet discharge table inclines to direct the forward end thereof upward and a wide gap is formed on the rear surface side. Consequently, the operation for closing the roll sheet cover can be performed easily by inserting a finger into the gap. Since the fixed cutter is covered by the fixed cutter cover plate part(72b) formed on the sheet discharge table under open state of the roll sheet cover, a finger does not touch the fixed cutter and safety is ensured.
