PURPOSE: A lid opening and closing device of an electric rice cooker is provided to easily open the lid even in a state, that a sealing member is contacted to an inner case after cooking, by mounting magnets, which cause repulsive force to each other, to an upper end of a body and the lid. CONSTITUTION: A lid opening and closing device of the electric rice cooker includes a body(10) opened at an upper portion, a lid(20) and magnets(35,36). The lid has a side hinged to the body for opening and closing the upper portion of the body and the other side capable of being locked or opened by a locking member and a hanging jaw. The magnets causing repulsive force are arranged on the upper end of the body and a portion of the lid corresponding to the upper end of the body to make the opening and closing of the lid smooth. The magnets has the same polarity and arranged to be adjacent to each other.
