PURPOSE: A method for determining wrong connection for air conditioner is provided to overcome the problem where the correct connection is erroneously determined as a wrong connection due to the low temperature difference of indoor pipeline during winter time. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step(S1) of storing the current outdoor air temperature, outlet side temperature of compressor and inlet side temperature of compressor, if the air conditioner is in test operation; a step(S2) of judging whether a predetermined time has lapsed since the test operation; a step(S3) of judging whether the outdoor air temperature is lower than a predetermined level, it a predetermined time has lapsed; a step(S4) of judging whether the difference between the current outlet side temperature of compressor and the outlet side temperature of compressor at the time of starting the test operation is lower than a predetermined temperature level, if it is judged in the step(S3) that the outdoor air temperature is lower, determining as a wrong connection if the difference is lower, and determining as a correct connection if the difference is not lower; and a step(S5) of judging whether the difference between the current inlet side temperature of compressor and the temperature of inlet side of compressor at the time of starting the test operation is lower than a predetermined temperature, if it is judged in the step(S3) that the outdoor air temperature is not lower than the predetermined temperature, judging as a wrong connection if the difference is lower than the predetermined temperature, and judging as a correct connection if the difference is not lower.
