PURPOSE: A moving image decoding device is provided to improve the image quality of decoded images without causing high deterioration in image quality resulting from the concealment processing. CONSTITUTION: The moving image decoding device is composed of a decoder(1) for decoding an input stream for respective macro blocks and generating the decoding image data, a transmission error detector(3) for detecting the transmission error of the input stream and a stream error detector(6) for detecting the stream error of the input stream. The decoding image data are corrected by a macro block unit when the transmission error is detected and the decoding image data are corrected by a video packet unit when the stream error is detected.
