METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTIVE EXCITATION AND MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for selective excitation free from influence of non-linearity of a gradient magnetic field, and to provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus using such a selective excitation apparatus. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus uses an RF excitation frequency f' corresponding to the slicing position Zc re-set on a position different from originally established slicing position Za, in accordance with the non-linearity error of a gradient magnetic field G(z). Otherwise, the gradient can be adjusted so that the spin frequency at the estabitshed slicing position Za accords with the frequency f of the RF excitation signal.
