PURPOSE: A device for detecting thickness of medium is provided to increase a range for measuring a rotational amount, to more accurately detect the thickness by removing a mechanical structure and to provide a small sized device. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting thickness of medium includes a guide part for guiding movement of the medium, a detection driving part mounted in a predetermined interval from the guide part and making rotational angle different according to the thickness of the medium guided and moved by the guide part, and a detection part for detecting a rotational amount of the detection driving part. The detection driving part has a rotating shaft(20) mounted in a predetermined interval from the guide part and a driving pin(22) mounted on the rotating shaft and driven by the moved medium to rotate the rotating shaft.
