PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for testing cell badness of a liquid crystal display device are provided to reduce test time for a liquid crystal panel and improve the working efficiency by promptly moving a cursor to the position of bad pixel with using a pointing device, and to improve the yield by preventing an error in repairing the bad pixel. CONSTITUTION: An auto prober(50) loads a liquid crystal panel to be test and tests the liquid crystal panel. A pattern generator(52) supplies a test pattern signal to the liquid crystal panel. A pointing device(54) promptly obtains coordinates of positions where bad pixels are found by moving freely a cursor shown on a screen. A file server(56) stores the coordinates of the bad pixels. A laser repairing part(58) repairs the bad pixels using a laser beam with coordinate data of the bad pixels. A loader part(60) returns the liquid crystal panel to the auto prober(50). A unloader part(62) returns the liquid crystal panel to the outside. A test part(64) tests the liquid crystal panel. A robot returning part(66) returns the liquid crystal put on the loader part(60) to the test part(64) or returns the test-completed liquid crystal panel to the unloader part(62).
