PURPOSE: A method for providing originator information in a mobile communication terminal is provided to display the originator information in a display window of the mobile communication terminal, when a telephone call is received during absence. CONSTITUTION: If an originator transmits a call to a mobile communication terminal, a telephone bell is ringing in the mobile communication terminal(201). Whether a receiver answers the telephone is decided(202). If the receiver answers, speech is performed(203). If the receiver does not answer the telephone, whether the originator cuts off the telephone is selected(204). If the originator does not cut off the telephone, a voice mail system is connected(205). Whether the originator uses the voice mail system is selected(206). If the originator uses the voice mail system, a telephone number or a voice message is left(207). If the originator transmits the message, the receiving of the message is displayed in a display window of the mobile communication terminal of the receiver(208). If the originator cuts off the telephone without using the voice mail system(209), whether a telephone number of the originator is stored in a telephone directory of the mobile communication terminal is searched(210). If not stored, the telephone during absence is displayed in the display window(211). If the telephone number of the originator is stored, originator information is displayed in the display window(212).
