PURPOSE: To improve the catalytic properties such as fixing strength, catalytic activity, sintering stability necessary for catalytic action and the sticking stability by making a catalyst to be used from a porous supporting structure stuck to the wall of a reforming reactor. CONSTITUTION: The porous metallic structure improves the sticking property to a metallic reactor wall and the catalyst is arranged in a porous metallic structure and is held in the structure, which decreases or eliminates the necessity for the sticking of the catalyst to the reactor wall. The metallic porous structure includes a foamed metal, a metallic wire, an expanded metal, a sintered metal and a metal made gauze. The foamed metal is structured so that a pore cavity is practically spherical and the opening of the cavity has a smaller radius of curvature than that of the spherical cavity. The catalytic material arranged in the cavity is impossible to be released from the cavity. The catalyst is filled in the cavity by introducing slurry containing a ceramic precursor into metallic foam and receives calcining and impregnation with the activated catalytic material. |
