PURPOSE: A wear perceiving device of a brake pad exchanges a brake pad at a proper time on the wearing of the brake pad by correctly alarming the wear state of the brake pad by using a visual warning lamp or an audible alarming sound. CONSTITUTION: A perceiving bolt(3) is installed penetrating through a back plate where a brake pad is mounted. An operating rod(5) biased by a returning spring(4) inside of the perceiving bolt(3) is extended to the wear perceiving depth of the brake pad and mounted. When some portion of the brake pad is worn, the operating rod(5) is contacted to a disk plate and moved by a restoring spring(4). A head portion(6) of the operating rod(5) and the perceiving bolt(3) are contacted and generates a signal. The signal is transmitted to an instrument panel through an electric wire(7). Thus, a warning light or an alarming sound is generated to warn a worker.
