PURPOSE: Disclosed is a promoting method of catalytic performances, activity, selectivity, and life, for dehydration reaction of C5-hydrocarbons. CONSTITUTION: The dehydration catalyst is composed of 0.05-2.0 wt% of Pt, 0.05-20.0 wt% of one of Sn, Ge, Pb, Ga, In, Zn, As, or Mn, 0.0-3.0 wt% of 1A or 2A alkali metal, 0.0-5.0 wt% of halogen element. The support uses one of alumina, silica, synthetic zeolite, or mixed metal oxides such as calcium aluminate, sodium aluminate, potassium aluminate, or magnesium aluminate. For the reaction using the catalyst, oxygenate such as H2O, CO2, or alcohols is used as a reactant with 0.001-10 wt% amount based on the weight of catalyst and the feed amount of hydrocarbon is 10-1,000,000 ppm.
