PURPOSE: A production method of a core yarn is provided to always and stably secure a state in which a stretchable filament yarn to be a core is situated in the center and completely covered with external layer fibers. CONSTITUTION: Drafted rovings(30A, 30B) are twisted and taken up in a parallel state through a collector by front rollers. A core yarn(34) is mixed through a snail wireshaped guide member from the back side of the front rollers in the rovings(30A, 30B). Since the guide member is fixed on the collector, the guide member follows to the collector even when slightly swung on right and left and the supply of the core yarn(34) to the center of the roving(30A, 30B) is kept. The state in which the core yarn(34) is completely surrounded with the external layer fibers can always be secured.
