PURPOSE: To improve reception characteristics while adaptively following the time fluctuation of a transmission line without lowering transmission efficiency even when the time fluctuation of a propagation path response is great. CONSTITUTION: While using a propagation path estimate value found by a propagation path estimating/compensating circuit 104, the propagation path distortion of a baseband signal provided from a received signal is compensated. The error of a propagation path distortion compensated information symbol is corrected by an error correcting circuit 105. An error corrected information bit stream is periodically sent to a re-encoding circuit 107 and transmission line encoding processing, modulating processing and relocating processing are performed again. This re-encoded error corrected information bit stream is sent to the propagation path estimating/compensating circuit 104, a propagation path is estimated by performing complex multiplication with a fast Fourier transform(FFT) operated signal while using this re-encoded information bit as a known signal, and the propagation path estimate value is found. This propagation path estimate value is updated into first propagation path estimate value.
