HANDOFF TESTING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A handoff testing apparatus and a method of a mobile communication system are provided to improve a performance of a system and reduce an expense by accurately testing a handoff function in a development stage of the system by performing a handoff testing in a laboratory environment. CONSTITUTION: CNG(Carrier to Noise Generators,105,106) generate AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) to obtain an interference effect by a different user and a different base station in a backward and a forward channel. An RF variable attenuator(102) attenuates a power of a forward/backward link or adjusts the amount of the AWGN produced by the CNG(105,106) by channels. A controller(107) remotely controls an attenuator of the RF variable attenuator(102) by using a GPIB(General Purpose Interface Bus) interface.
