PURPOSE: To provide an amplification solid-state image pickup device that can obtain a uniform image without a ghost noise caused by a shutter operation. CONSTITUTION: A shutter reset operation of a row (i-th row) is made at a period different from a horizontal blanking period τH of another row ((i+1)th row) for which a pixel group is selected and a signal is read and just after a period for which a reset signal is read at a reading time of a signal of the row.
