PURPOSE: Provided is a method for quantitatively and qualitatively determining the activity of the factor VII-activating protease in protein solutions thereby early diagnosing diseases. CONSTITUTION: The method for determining the activity of factor VII activating protease in a solution containing the protease and/or its proenzyme comprises: (a) incubating the solution with a solid phase bearing an immobilized antibody directed against the protease; (b) washing the solid phase; and (c) incubating the bound protease and/or proenzyme with reagents permitting activity determination.
