PURPOSE: A method for setting a multiple link point-to-point protocol of an AO/DI ISDN terminal is provided to implement a fast negotiation of a B-channel which is dynamically formed after setting a link with respect to a D-channel in an AO/DI ISDN terminal. CONSTITUTION: When an access request is received from a user's PC(S301), a link setting operation using a point-to-point protocol(PPP) is started with respect to a D-channel, and a configure request message defined in a link control protocol of a PPP is transmitted to request a link setting operation. The link set with respect to the D-channel is continuously maintained. An opponent receives message options and checks the same. The message is analyzed(S304 through S310). In the case of the reject message, a problem is deleted, and the configure request message is transmitted again. A link negotiation is started from the ISDN terminal adapter and a 'Configure Act' message is received for thereby completing one cycle and a negotiation(S311 through S321). A 'Configure Request' message is received from an Internet service provider, and a negotiation is started, and a 'Configure Act' message is transmitted, and successful information is stored at the time when the negotiation is completed for thereby completing a link negotiation.
