PURPOSE: An exhaust system of an internal combustion engine is provided to keep the heat of discharge gas while passing a discharge gas re-circulation path of an exhaust manifold and reduce the heat loss while passing an inner pipe of the exhaust pipe by a discharge gas flow channel, thereby reducing the activation time of the catalyst of a catalyst converter and reducing the harmful gas generation in case of cold starting. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust manifold(34) having at least one or more discharge gas re-circulation path(35) through which partial exhaust gas passes, an exhaust pipe(36) connected to the exhaust manifold and having a discharge gas flow channel(36c) communicated with the discharge gas re-circulation path, and an exhaust gas flow channel(46) connected to the discharge gas re-circulation valve and an intake manifold respectively.
