PURPOSE: A loss preventing apparatus of a mobile phone using a bluetooth communication and its control method are provided to prevent a loss of a mobile phone by generating an alarm sound in an earphone if there is a loss possibility as the ear phone is isolated for more than a predetermined interval from the mobile phone by periodically measuring a receiving power level of the earphone in a loss prevention mode or a hand-free mode of the mobile phone. CONSTITUTION: A controller determines whether there is a local radio communication selection through a user interface(302). If there is a local radio communication selection, the controller checks whether there is a loss prevention mode and a hand-free mode selection(304). If there is a loss prevention mode or a hand-free mode selection, the controller periodically checks a radio frequency power level from an earphone received through a local radio communication module(306). After the radio frequency power level of the earphone is measure, the controller checks whether the power level of the earphone is below a predetermined level(308). If the power level of the earphone is below a predetermined level, the controller detects a call state of a mobile phone(310). If the mobile phone is determined to be in a call state, the controller converts an alarm generation control data to an alarm sound generation data packet, a bluetooth radio, by means of the local radio communication module and transmits it to the earphone(312). The controller determines whether the local radio communication has been released through the user interface(316). If the mobile phone is not in a call state(310), the controller generates an alarm sound(314).
