PURPOSE: A method and system for managing processing central unit is provided to manage workload in a distribution system, which is logically distributed. CONSTITUTION: The resources to be shared include CPU resources, I/O resources, and memory, as well as coprocessors or any other shareable resources. A particular logical partition group accesses to all of the resources of a particular machine. The multiple logical partition groups operate concurrently on a single machine. The resources that make up a particular logical partition group are effectively scoped to the group.
