EXPANSION VALVE FOR TURBO REFRIGERATOR

PURPOSE: An expansion valve for turbo refrigerator is provided to allow throttling control to be easily performed and achieve an optimum refrigeration cycle by forming penetration hole at the valve disk of the throttle valve in accordance with a predetermined penetration ratio. CONSTITUTION: An expansion valve comprises a throttle pipe(52) having a diameter(D); a valve disk(54) arranged to be rotatable in the refrigerant flow channel of the throttle pipe; and a plurality of holes(55) penetrated through the valve disk and which has a diameter(d) formed in accordance with the penetration ratio which is set by the critical throat diameter ratio obtained by calculating the density and acoustic velocity of the refrigerant at the entrance of the throttle pipe. Throttling control is performed by adjusting the degree of opening of the valve disk.
