METHOD AND MOBILE TERMINAL FOR VOICE MESSAGE SERVICE

PURPOSE: A method and a mobile terminal for voice message service are provided to enable direct transmission and receiving of voice message by segmenting voice message, adding header, and inserting in SMS(Short Message Service). CONSTITUTION: A voice input/output processor(530) processes voice input and output in a mobile terminal. A vocoder(540) encodes or decodes to the voice data outputted from the input/output processor(530). A voice message processor(520) divides voice data into segments. An SMS message processor(510) processes outputted data, which is divided into multiple of segments from the voice message processor(520). A message processor(500) processes voice and text message. The voice message processor(520) distinguishes the type of vocoder(540) in use. A voice message data gram is generated at a vocoder distinguish/data gram generator(524). A data gram storage unit(523) stores the generated data gram from the distinguish/data gram generator(524). A message assembly/segmentation unit(522) divides the stored voice message data gram in accordance with SMS message size, and assembles segments of received SMS message into voice message data gram. A detection unit(521) detects received SMS message to detect whether the message is a voice message.
