The present invention relates to a ceramic filter composition mainly based on electrocorundum. Said composition further comprises SiO2, and CaCO3 as a conglomerating adding, and an organic adding. Al3TiO3, SiC2, aluminium or their mixtures can be included in the conglomerating adding. Graphite as a pore-maker can advantageously be added. The invention also relates to a plated ceramic filter used for the purpose of liquids purification having a monolithic macroporous support material made of the composition described above, and at least two lengthwise parallel channels being covered with a membrane layer obtained by applying heat and pressure to said support material, as well as a method for its making.
