The time multiplexed communications receiver system has radio signal burst forming frame blocks. A first set of sequences are learning sequences. There are two sets of processing carried out (42,47) one at the start of the processing sequence and the other towards the end. Each segment uses the apprentice symbols (49) and estimates the demodulation. The combination of the estimates (50) are used to determine the final demodulation.
