PURPOSE: A black plate for D & I process having superior can safety and a method for manufacturing the same are provided not only to secure superior forming property in D & I (drawn and ironed) canning but also improve the internal pressure of a final can, thereby securing safety of the can and decreasing the weight of the can by performing a low temperature annealing in the continuous annealing method and properly controlling a texture ratio of steel. CONSTITUTION: The black plate comprises 0.003 to 0.009 wt.% of C, 0.1 to 0.6 wt.% of Mn, 0.007 to 0.015 wt.% of S, 0.02 to 0.08 wt.% of Al, 0.0015 to 0.004 wt.% of N and a balance of Fe and other inevitable elements, wherein a weight ratio of Mn/S is 15 to 40, a weight ratio of Al/N is 15 to 25, and a texture ratio of {I(222)+I(211)}/{I(200)} constituent is 5.5 to 7.0. The method comprises the processes of hot rolling the reheated Al-killed steel at a finishing hot rolling temperature of 890 to 910 deg.C after reheating Al-killed steel comprising 0.003 to 0.009 wt.% of C, 0.1 to 0.6 wt.% of Mn, 0.007 to 0.015 wt.% of S, 0.02 to 0.08 wt.% of Al, 0.0015 to 0.004 wt.% of N and a balance of Fe and other inevitable elements, wherein a weight ratio of Mn/S is 15 to 40, and a weight ratio of Al/N is 15 to 25; cold rolling the wound Al-killed steel to a reduction ratio of 89 to 92% after coiling the hot rolled Al-killed steel in the temperature range of 600 to 700 deg.C; and continuous annealing the cold rolled Al-killed steel in the temperature range of a recrystallization temperature to 700 deg.C.
