The invention concerns a system for providing services available in a private network (14) to a mobile terminal (12) user connected to a public or private mobile network (10). Said system comprises a telecommunication gateway (22) which is connected between the private network (14) exchange and the mobile network. The gateway converts signalling data coming from the private network (14) exchange (16) to a format compatible with a protocol enabling data and service transmission to and from a mobile terminal, for example the WAP protocol. It then transmits the converted signalling data to the mobile terminal (12) through the mobile network. In the opposite direction, the gateway converts the signalling data coming from the mobile terminal to a format compatible with the exchange, and it transmits the converted signalling data to the exchange. The invention enables the use of services of a private network - call forwarding, name call, etc - from a mobile terminal.
