<p>Circuitry detects a quench in a superconducting magnet and discharges the superconducting magnet into a load, such as a utility system, at a substantially constant voltage. The circuitry can be an inverter, arranged between the superconducting magnet and the load, which may operate in overload mode during discharge. Discharging occurs until the amount of energy in the superconducting magnet is below a predetermined level.</p> |
