<p>A support base (10) for distributing a concentrated load over a contact surface is disclosed. The support base (10) includes a body formed of moldable polymeric material having a top surface (20) and a generally planar bottom surface (22). At least one recess is integrally formed in the top surface (20) for receiving a support member (102). The support member (102) transfers the concentrated load to the planar body. Furthermore, at least one through bore (18) is provided in the support base (10), and the through bore (18) extends from the top surface (20) to the bottom surface (22) and has relatively oversized cavity portion (32) adjacent to the bottom surface (22) for receiving fasteners (30) such as nuts for securing bolts, and acts as a sealant reservoir when a through bolt is used to secure the base to surfaces such as a rooftop. Additionally, an adjustable post assembly (100) is disclosed for use with the support base (10).</p> |
