In the special application for drilling machines, the trigger (2) of the switch is mounted on the side handle (5) or the main handle (6) and can be associated or not with the main power switch (I) of the tool. Said trigger (2) is mounted against the force of two springs (M1, M2) having different elasticity and affixed to the housing of the tool and serving to move a sliding cursor (4) with three stops (T1, T2, T3) which are operationally opposite two pairs of contacts (C1-C2 and C3-C4) that are connected to the power circuit of the motor (M) of the tool. When the bit is jammed, the operator instinctively actuates the trigger (2) and the contacts (C1-C2-C3-C4) are actuated to an "open" position that cuts off power supply. Once the trigger is released (2), the set of contacts returns to its initial position to reset the switch.
