A scroll type compressor, wherein a compression chamber (16) is formed of a fixed scroll (2) and a movable scroll (4), a first back pressure chamber (14) is formed at the rear of the movable scroll (4), fluid with a delivery pressure is led into the first back pressure chamber, an unloader mechanism (11) for leading refrigerant gas in the compression chamber (16a) during compression is provided, a control part (31) for controlling the unloader mechanism (11) is provided and, when a release force tends to exceed a pressing force, the control part detects the status and operates the unloader part to lead the fluid in the compression chamber during compression to an intake port side, whereby the release force is lowered even if the pressing force is lowered to provide a relatively sufficient pressing force so as to reduce an internal leak.
