<p>The present invention provides a passenger evacuation arrangement for emergency use in aircraft, and in particular for evacuating passengers from an upper deck or decks of a multideck aircraft safely to ground level, compact when stowed and which safely, rapidly and effectively evacuates passengers to ground level. The present invention provides an evacuation arrangement consisting of a marine-type evacuation chute (14), and a frame (50) for suspending the chute (14) overboard of an aircraft in a vertical orientation, wherein the frame (50) is relatively compact when in a stowed position.
